ALAMEDA AZTECHS

Alameda Aztechs is a community robotics program based out of Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California. We recruit students aged 13-18 that live in the Alameda area. The Alameda Aztechs is part of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), participating in friendly competition and cooperation.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Members design, build, and maintain complex machines for specific tasks as outlined by FIRST’s yearly challenges. They also manage the programming for the robots, and control and drive them during competitions. Additionally, interested students also help in non-robotics aspects of the team, such as business management, social media, public relations and fundraising.

The Alameda Aztechs take part in the competition, called FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), managed by an organization named FIRST (For the Inspiration of Robotics, Science and Technology). FIRST was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen, and the first FRC event occurred in 1992.

Interested in joining?
Though the FRC season takes place from January to May, the Alameda Aztechs operate year round, participating in various offseason events. We meet on weekends. During competition season the team meets both Saturday and Sunday. See how you can be part of the team!
